Kanye West has officially announced his US presidential bid for 2024.
Going live with a video he christened #YE24, the clip sees the controversial star explain his rationale for running for office again (despite his failed 2020 effort).
West also seized the moment to seemingly jab Donald Trump (who he previously aligned with).
Recounting a seemingly recent encounter, the MC said: “I think the thing Trump was most perturbed about [was] me asking him to be my vice president. I think that was lower on the list of things that caught him off guard.”
He went on to claim that the former President slammed his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, before lambasting West – who made headlines recently after wearing a ‘White Lives Matter’ shirt – more.
The performer went on to add:
“[He] started basically screaming at me at the table, telling me I am going to lose,” then laughing as he added, “Has that worked for anyone in history?”

West’s re-ignited presidential ambitions come amidst a chaotic time for the rapper, who remains under fire after making culturally insensitive and antisemitic remarks. The fallout from the comments saw the Hip-Hop staple dropped from a growing list of entities – including Adidas, CAA, Balenciaga, and Vogue.
