Kanye West Dropped By Vogue, Balenciaga, & CAA Talent Reps Amid Backlash Over Anti-Semitism

Published: Monday 24th Oct 2022 by Rashad

‘Jesus Walks’ hitmaker Kanye West is seeing yet another slew of big-named brands walk away from their lucrative business relationship in light of controversy stemming from his headline-grabbing anti-Semitic remarks recently.

Not long after West brewed backlash for wearing and defending his custom ‘White Lives Matter’ t-shirt, the 45-year-old music and fashion mogul was banned from Facebook and Twitter for making disparaging comments about Jewish people.

In addition to ongoing criticism from former fans, industry analysts, and even his celebrity peers, the result of the infraction comes as a continued fallout from the likes of Balenciaga, ‘Vogue,’ and now CAA.

Details inside.

Despite an attempt to apologize for his bizarre behavior during a recent interview with Piers Morgan, Kanye – who was also hit with a $250 million lawsuit from the family of George Floyd for disparaging comments made about the Minnesota man’s death – is still facing the consequences of his statements.

Most recently, CAA, the talent agency that reps some of the biggest stars in the world including Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, Zendaya, Ryan Murphy, Shonda Rhimes, Ellen DeGeneres, Samuel L. Jackson, and more, confirmed they have dropped West from their client roster.

What’s more, a completed documentary about the Rap superstar will be shelved in light of his recent anti-Semitic comments.

“This morning, after discussion with our filmmakers and distribution partners, we made the decision not to proceed with any distribution for our recently completed documentary about Kanye West. We cannot support any content that amplifies his platform,” , MRC studio executives Modi Wiczyk, Asif Satchu, and Scott Tenley announced in a memo Monday (October 24). “Kanye is a producer and sampler of music. Last week he sampled and remixed a classic tune that has charted for over 3,000 years — the lie that Jews are evil and conspire to control the world for their own gain.”

As if that’s not enough to make West worry, fashion brands Balenciaga and ‘Vogue’ cut ties with him as well amid pressure for Adidas to do the same.

Taking to press Friday (October 21), a ‘Vogue’ spokesperson said neither the magazine nor its editor-in-chief Anna Wintour intend to work with Kanye West again.

Elsewhere, Balenciaga echoed the sentiment.

“Balenciaga has no longer any relationship nor any plans for future projects related to this artist,” the brand’s parent firm Kering said in a brief statement on the same day.

Finally! Let hope this cancellation continues with Adidas. He think he can go around unfiltered on all these random obscure talk shows, spewing hate. You keep this ish at your kitchen table.
Kim has been on her knees thanking the Angels above that she is no longer with this n**.

    • yup! October 24, 2022

She’s been on her knees but thanking the angels isn’t what she does down there 😮

    • eric October 24, 2022

Adidas is taking too long. Their credibility is blown at this point.

I think they are proving what he said about Jews to be true. He talked so much negative s*** about the black community for years and there was NO blowback. As soon as he mentions Jews now it’s oh no you’re canceled your words matter. Y’all are not genuine people that people trust.

    • ToxicThrill October 24, 2022

Of course someone was gonna comment this BS. No, there just so happen to be more Jewish people running things in the entertainment industry than African Americans – that’s not some kind of conspiracy about the Jewish population yearning for global power – it’s just that you don’t talk ish about your boss and get to keep your job. What’s happened when he was dissing black people was that there were none above him otherwise the same thing would’ve happened there. Stop feeding into anti-Semitism. Thank you.

You don’t seem smart enough for me to explain what I said. But I will anyway, I said it very clearly that Jewish people do NOT come off as genuine people and that leads to people having a distrust for them. Saying hate speech is wrong, when they did nothing for years when it was directed at black peoples does not make you a victim or a hero.

      Hi Perfection is so mhhh,

While I certainly get your point. However, I think the difference is/was Kanye is looked at as a black person that talked negatively about his Black People (his own community). If we as a Black Collective didn’t look to punish, blackball, spank, sanction, censor, ban, silence, or cancel Kanye, then how can we expect others to do so? The difference is, Kanye spoke ill of another community. And unlike us who allowed the disrespect, that community refused not to. The problem is us. We would never let a white person get away with saying the stuff Kanye said about our community, but because he is black…we become confused and allowed it.

I don’t disagree there are too many black people still supporting him. But he has a lot of white people that support him even if we did cancel him it wouldn’t affect him. So that’s a cop out in my opinion. The point that I was making is that if hate speech is not cool why did the Jews wait until it affected them. That’s why I said they proved his point.

        So happy he’s getting cancelled!!!

It’s ashame to see that so many people live in a fantasy where they believe what’s right will prevail.
If u don’t shut up with that S H I T and play the game called life. N I g g a s been spitting knowledge on game since 80-90s and ppl still pretend not to know.. Leave the Jews the f*** alone. It’s law!!

Whether it’s right or wrong, doesn’t matter. Reality is real! Get with it or …

I know his mama is very disappointed

    • eric October 24, 2022

We don’t seem to be able to draw a line with Kanye. If he did another stadium show tomorrow it would sell out and we’d be lined up around the block trying to get in. We would pay George Floyd’s death no mind even though Kanye’s words go directly against everything we marched for and protested. Jewish people are doing what we should’ve done a long time ago. We don’t have to own companies to cancel anyone. All we ever needed to do was stop going to his shows and buying his stuff. His ego is so big now he’ll probably never seek the help he needs.

      • Whatever October 25, 2022

Blacks aren’t his supporters and do not have the power to cancel him. If hate speech of any kind is unacceptable, like these entities want us to believe, then those in power (Jews) should’ve taken action when he first started spewing it. They’re just as disingenuous as he is. And no we should not “play the gane”. We should use our voices and our consumer power to leverage power and bring change. Jews are not infallible and should not be treated as such.

      @eric EXACTLY!!!!

  3. Tongue’Fcukk October 24, 2022

Not sorry for him at all. He got a disgustingly huge ego. We made him what he is and we can bring him down, he laid his bed so he must lie in it

  4. Tell the Truth October 24, 2022

This serves him right. But it does not go unnoticed that his years of anti-Blackness has been rewarded rather than penalized. And this situation makes clear that Black people have no allies–not even other Black people.

  5. Proud Gay Furry October 24, 2022

if he ends up being furphobic i will mvrder kanye. No one should be furphobic, ever!

  6. Nakee October 24, 2022

So he can say whatever he wants until it’s about the Jews?? F*** that he’s been spewing anti black nonsense for years with no repercussions.

    • Musiqlovah October 24, 2022

I definitely see your point. I think the big difference is that Kanye was considered a black person disrespecting his own community. If we didn’t look to cancel, why would we expect other communities to do the same? The difference with Anti-semetic thing, is he talked about another community..and they weren’t having it.

We as a black community should have collectively silence Kanye a while back. This dude made White Lives Matter shirt and still maintain support from black people. I am glad the other group finally dealt with him..because it didn’t look like we would ever do it.

  7. Chica October 24, 2022

    Kanye is cancelling himself.

Just some news of the things that happened because of Kanye:

“Kill The Jews” and a swastika greeted students today starting their week at Queen’s University.
Jews woke up to antisemitic flyers in their homes in Los Angeles
Antisemitic flyers were left on cars last week at the Grove and in Pico Robertson.
A Nazi salute paired with “Kanye is right about the Jews in Los Angeles.
Kanye is right about the Jews” – white supremacist group ‘Goyim Defense League’ headed up by Jon Minadeo II dropped vile banner on the busy 110 highway in Los Angeles today.
