Like many on the internet, Lifetime‘s biopic on the late, great Aaliyah angered the singer’s longtime friend and collaborator Timbaland.
As reported, the hitmaker took to Instagram following the movie’s airing on Saturday to air his dismay at the critically-panned film.
With his temperament somewhat calmed, Timbo called into Ebro In The Morning on Hot 97 today to elaborate on what he brands a “mockery” by all involved with the production.
His words below…
Do you agree?
Im not mad at him. The movie was a joke im not even an Aaliyah fan yet i felt disrespected.
gurl bye!
The movie birthed my soul.
Can Aaliyahs fam sue over this?
I’ve always admired Tim & Missy’s fight for Aaliyah and their respect for her family. I’m not the least bit curious about the movie and I refuse to look at any part of it.
I cant confirm or deny, how the movie is, since I did not watch, but it has all the elements of a flop production.
Timbo, as well as the other family, friends, and fans, have a right to call out their frustration for a movie with little production, and casting values.
I wonder what the ratings were, for this Wendy Williams production??
HONEY THAT MOVIE WAS A S***** MESS!!! *slaps starring actress and entire cast*
Just like your fav’s stiff, fake ass face.
……………..
the backlash from this parody was on a whole new level lol lifetime fuckkkkked up
Lifetime has really messed up on this “biopic.” I could’ve probably gotten a better movie from the creators of Got2BReal
This movie was horrible. I’m very disappointed…Aaliyah deserves much better representation than this…
Wendy in particular is pitiful, she didn’t have the guts to address it on her show… but she sure cared about the ratings it brought in, smh! Shame on everyone who participated (actors, producers, writers etc), I don’t know how you can put this on your resume.
