“It’s Coming”: Aaliyah’s Label Confirms Late Singer’s Delayed ‘Unstoppable’ Album Will Arrive This Year

Published: Tuesday 16th Jan 2024 by Rashad

On what would have been late R&B princess Aaliyah‘s 45th birthday (January 16), Blackground Records has confirmed the singer’s highly anticipated new project, ‘Unstoppable,’ will drop in 2024.

Details inside.

After sending Aaliyah lovers into a frenzy in late 2021 with the long-awaited official release of her prized hits like ‘One in a Million,’ ‘More Than a Woman,’ ‘4 Page Letter,’ ‘Rock the Boat,’ and more, Blackground rocked the fan group into pandemonium the next year with reports a collection of previously unheard cuts would be assembled for a new effort called ‘Unstoppable.’

Originally due in January 2022, the project – kicked off by The Weeknd-assisted ‘Poison – drew a surprising mixed reaction from listeners, sending the label back to the drawing board to revamp the project.

Taking to Twitter earlier today, Blackground announced the arrival of a new website that will keep fans up to date on when the revised version of the opus will be delivered.  As the tweet above infers, however, ‘Unstoppable’ will be hitting digital shelves this year.

Although no official date has been confirmed at the time of this report, it’s still believed the set will keep its star-studded guest list which at one time listed names like Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Future, Drake, The Weeknd, and more.

Bet it’s gonna be some LQ dated demos. Y’all can keep it… If y’all smart enough, use her real voice on A.I and recording some new bops!

      Please correct your English Ling

No, will never. Ling Ling has her every right to represent her broken English.

They handed Aaliyah’s legacy so poorly. Even when her albums became available on streaming, people didn’t run out to support. She should be on Selena’s level but her label AND family are greedy and shady af. 23 years later and here we are…

You can’t call her mother and brother greedy, not the two people who listen to the fans. The fans petitioned for a makeup line like Selena had, for example, and Rashad took it upon himself to step in and make it happen. That wasn’t for money – it was for the fans. And all that Diane and Rashad asked for with the initial announcement of Unstoppable was a full accounting to the estate which is not unreasonable considering Barry has faced multiple lawsuits for fraud and deception after keeping a chokehold on JoJo and other artists whose careers and albums suffered. He cannot be trusted to operate on his own accord.

We didn’t want the unauthorized songs then and we don’t want them now. It has a bunch of artists Aaliyah may or may not have ever wanted to collaborate with singing and rapping over her short incomplete low quality demo vocals, and though they may have reworked the album’s sound and style since 2022, it probably still won’t be close to the signature sound from Tim, Missy, Static and the innovative work from Eric and Rapture on the red album.

Yep. I wish missy and Tim would be the producers and her family will be part of it.

I don’t want no Drake, the weekend, Neyo, Chris Brown, future… They are trash

They should have let Drake and 40 do it when Enough Said came out 🤷🏽‍♂️ sorry not sorry

They gotta get jayz to drop a verse. Dame Dash and Jay both was in love with her

    • Flopwood January 16, 2024

    • What Would 50 Do January 16, 2024

I’m here for anything Aaliyah honestly Chris brown “don’t think they know” was the best attempt at a track. I didn’t care for “poison” at 1st but listened again and it’s not that bad. I just don’t want them to ruin her legacy the internet is unforgiving.

Her estate is unqualified. Shame on them. That album is never coming out. BS as always.

I hope they do her justice. Not sure she would have collaborated with Chris Brown.

She is always my number 1.
