It’s another great week for Urban television.
FOX‘s freshman smash ‘Empire’ continues to grow exponentially, while BET are so pleased with the second season performance of ‘Being Mary Jane’ that they’ve renewed the drama for a third run.
Details below…
Entertainment Weekly confirms that last night’s episode of Lee Daniels‘ ‘Empire’ drew a whopping 11.5 million viewers – the highest of the season yet.
It’s imperative to point out that the Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson led music series has risen in ratings week on week since its January debut.
Meanwhile, Gabrielle Union‘s ‘Jane’ has earned another season after airing just one episode of its sophomore season.
It not surprising that the network have so much faith in the relationship drama; it’s Tuesday night premiere saw it become the most watched cable show that day after commanding an audience of 2.3 million.
Congrats to all involved with both programmes. They’re entirely deserving of the success.
