Yet, the first look at the Barry Jenkins-directed blockbuster was unleashed alongside a number of surprises. Specifically as relates to its cast.
For, the climax of the teaser revealed that Beyonce and her daughter Blue Ivy Carter are involved with the Disney live-action adventure.

Moments ago, it was announced that Beyonce will reprise her role as Nala in the eagerly awaited film.
As widely known, Queen Bey voiced the character in the 2019 live-action revival of ‘The Lion King.’
It has been confirmed that Blue Ivy will make her big screen debut as Kiara – the daughter of Nala and King Simba (played by a returning Donald Glover).
Led by Aaron Pierre in the titular role of Mufasa, the film serves as a prequel to the events that took place in ‘The Lion King.’
And clearly, now, it appears there will be a future element to the narrative too.
‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ debuts in theaters worldwide on December 20.
