“Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful. Hate me because I’m here to stay”
Those were the words of Claudia Jordan in the opening credits of season 7 of ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta.’ Unfortunately for the media personality, the sassy statement is now soaked in irony. Why? Because she’s reportedly been fired from the hit Bravo show.
Details below…
According to TMZ, Jordan will not be returning for the show’s 8th cycle.
Claudia Jordan learned the hard way not to mess with Nene Leakes … because she’s been fired … TMZ has learned.
We’re told that producers gave her the ax this week … and she didn’t see it coming.
The new season begins filming next month in ATL. Bravo hasn’t decided if Claudia can come back for guest appearances.
Yikes.
That said, we just didn’t see it for Claudia.
Granted she came on swinging (see: her hilarious showdown with O.G Nene Leakes), her presence felt largely unnecessary and her forced injection into “storylines” that preceded her arrival just made the show feel artificial.
It’s clear producers seem have made it routine to look forward and not backwards when it comes to casting, but from where yours truly is standing, surely it’d be best to bring back Sheree Whitfield and re-instate Porsha Williams as a full-time cast member?
As Nene has harped on about in the press of late, there was something quite off about how blatant it was that the annual new additions weren’t actual Housewives nor did they have any legitimate links to the current cast. As if the “real” in reality TV wasn’t already hanging on by a thread.
Here’s hoping a more authentic/organic approach is taken to hiring of Claudia’s replacement.
