The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 8: TGJ’s Top 5 Wishes

Published: Thursday 25th Jun 2015 by That Grape Juice

With taping set to commence for season 8 of ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta,’ That Grape Juice countdowns the 5 things that we’d like to see from our favorite melo-drama mama’s during their next run.

5. Reunion

An “all-in” scene with every housewife past and present in order to usher in the new season. Picture it! Nene holds a cookout to start the new season wiping the slate clean with enemies like Kandi Burruss, Sheree Whitfield, and Marlo Hampton being invited for a true feel good, get the hell over it type moment. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills had a mini OG reunion as the original cast members came to Kyle’s annual white party and had a blast on the dance floor. We’d love to see Nene, Kim, Sheree, Lisa, and Deshawn reunite at said scene for a cute 1, 2 Step.

4. Bring Back Sheree Whitfield!

We’ve been saying this forever! Andy, if you’re reading this we need our She by Sheree! We want to know what’s going on with Chateau Sheree as well! Like, just who can bring that Southern sass we’ve grown accustomed to? Sheree Whitfield, that’s who! Who gon’ check me boo?

3. Genuine Stories

An example of a Housewives brand that is exploring real issues are the Real Housewives of Orange County, celebrating their 10th season we’re set to see Shannon Beador tackle her husband David’s infidelity, trouble maker Tamra Judge find Christianity (thank goodness), and the overall mother of all Housewives Vicki Gunvalson deal not only with her boyfriend Brooks Ayers’ cancer diagnosis but the unfortunate passing of her mother during filming. If these ladies can be so transparent and have REAL things going on, certainly the Atlanta girls can deliver a side of realism with the sass and shade we’ve come to love as well.

2. New Girls

Not just any new girls, some with real relationships to the cast. The cast from season 5 – 7 eventually did damaging things to each other that are far beyond repair and now it’s obvious that if Kenya, Phaedra, and Porsha are on the same cast it will be the fourth season in a row of the same old song and dance. Demetria would have been a perfect addition this season as she is an actress, booked singer, and dates the infamous Roger Bobb, however with 8 girls filming last season, she got lost in the shuffle of shade. People were nervous with the exits of Sheree and Kim and we were brought in the crazy that is Kenya Moore and our favorite history teacher Porsha Williams. Hopefully we get women that are equally as dynamic.

1. The Ladies Moving On

Over the past season I’m sure it was hard to get the ladies together and genuinely get along. If the rumors ring true about Nene, Kandi, and Kenya being the only solid peach holders SO FAR this season, hopefully Nene can truly move past her issues with Kandi and Kenya to make for an entertaining show. Word on the streets here in Atlanta is that there are some new faces, and an old face or two popping up and what is making the Real Housewives of New York City a huge success is that they fight like cats and dogs, but genuinely do care about one another so they fight, make-up, and move on. Lather, rinse, repeat.
