‘Empire‘s Taraji P. Henson has reportedly joined forces with the talkshow host Wendy Williams to star in a brand new Christmas movie.
Surprising news below…
Taraji is going to star in a TV remake of the movie “Scrooged” set for this Christmas. She’s going to take the Bill Murray role of Scrooge, character name to come.
So far the only other name I’ve heard for the snappy idea is Wendy Williams, the talk show hostess with the mostess. She’s set to play the Ghost of Christmas Past. In the movie, that role was played by New York Dolls singer David Johansen aka Buster Poindexter.
Henson recently wrapped work on the second half of ‘Empire‘s second season, and celebrated the New Year with news she had bagged the leading role in a movie about a NASA Maths genius.
Named ‘Hidden Figures’ the project honours Katherine Jackson, one of many black women who were crucial to early spaceflight efforts.
The story centers on Johnson, a brilliant African-American mathematician who, along with her colleagues Dorothy Vaughn and Mary Jackson, served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in U.S. history — the momentous launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, and his safe return. The three women crossed all gender, race and professional lines while embarking on the mission.
The movie makes its way to the world on January 13th 2017.
