Jamie Foxx has teamed up with Showtime to deliver an exciting new TV series.
Must-read details on the artist’s plans below…
‘White Famous’ comes courtesy of Foxx, Lionsgate, Showtime and ‘Californiacation’ creator Tom Kapinos and tells the tale of an African-American comedian on the rise forced to maintain his credibility among African-American audiences while aiming to be “white famous.”
I came up from standup comedy, so to be able to share that aspect of my life on screen with a project like ‘White Famous’ is incredibly exciting. We couldn’t have found better partners than SHOWTIME, Lionsgate and Tom Kapinos to tell this story in the best possible way.
A premiere date for the project is yet to be set but will arrive as Foxx celebrates the tenth anniversary of ‘Dreamgirls‘, the movie he starred in alongside Jennifer Hudson, Anika Noni-Rose and Beyonce.
Kapinos said of ‘Famous‘:
They say you can’t go home again, but I’m thrilled to be back at SHOWTIME, where I’m equally jazzed to be working with the brilliant Jamie Foxx on the creation of another wickedly profane TV antihero.
Your thoughts?
A decade since he out performed Yonce in Dreamgirls. Time flies when you can act.
Jamie carried her performance for her in my opinion. It’s sad and ironic that she stopped acting after giving her best performance in Cadillac Records.
That hairline ???!
Ain’t he dating Katie Holmes? (Tom Cruise 3rd ex wife)
Good for him
