As Kanye West’s beef with Beyonce heats up, Ava DuVernay‘s spat with social injustice continues as her new documentary ‘13th’ drives thousands to its platform Netflix.
One of those was Oprah Winfrey.
Moved by its raw exploration into how corrupt criminal justice system pumps money into the pockets of corporate America by jailing people of colour, Winfrey invited Ava to discuss the project and its damning exposures.
Their conversation is a must-see.

I can’t believe what I saw when I watched this.
So people are literally making money every time someone goes to jail? Makes you wonder if people are being framed to make up the numbers.
Not necessarily framing but instead they are locking up non-violent criminals for long periods of time for minor charges.
They are a handsome lesbian couple.
FYI folks, that documentary is a must see! I would say white folks should see it too but I’m not here to coddle white folks, especially when they play sumn dead and blind no matter what info is presented. This documentary is a must see in the black community. If you have children, if you have a husband, if you’re black and need to be informed. The prison system is one big billion dollar corporation . And needless to say whenever here’s that much money to be made, there will be shady business practices, lies, theft, and corruption.
I’ve been watching Queen sugar, and this Info was tied into one of the episodes.
I watched 13th last night and it was a phenomenal film.., everyone needs to see it
