After the positive reception to African American sitcom ‘The Carmichael Show,’ the series’ parent network NBC is looking to expand its comedies marketed toward audiences of color. The next comedian set to bring the laughs for them? Marlon Wayans.
Via the self titled sitcom, due for premiere on August 16th, Wayans is bringing an “updated take” on the classic family comedy by co-parenting his two children with his unreceptive ex-wife (Essence Atkins).
A reunion of Wayans and Atkins, who famously co-starred in the ‘Paranormal Activity’-parody ‘Haunted House,’ tuck in below to weigh in and tell us if you think they can bring some of their movie comic gold to the small screen:
Yes! I’m here for it! Love them!
I’m here for this also!! ✌??
Awesome
The is the only Wayan, JENNIFER LOPEZ has not slept with. It will be a bop
Why does every child in sitcoms nowadays have to have on a pair of glasses?
#trendz
I didn’t laugh once.
Marlon can be annoying at times but this may last a few seasons if people tune in and his antics don’t go overboard
Support!!
I always found him funny, I can’t wait for this to come on
I will be supporting this
The wrong network. Sorry. NBC is a horrible network.
