A win on many a front.
‘Girls Trip’ was made on a $28 million budget and has, in little over one week, almost tripled that figure. And that’s just in the US. It’s also on the cusp of becoming director Will Packer‘s best performing movie at the Stateside box office (‘The Best Man Holiday’ sits at $70 million).
Anchored by Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Tiffany Haddish, and Jada Pinkett Smith, the flick follows a group a friends as they journey to the Essence Music Festival.

Universal must be mulling a sequel at this point. Must be.
The film is a quality, well written & executed project that deserves the support it is receiving. It was also made on a $19 million dollar budget & NOT $28. The film has has more than tripled its investment in a seven day period.

How many times are we going to have to keep proving ourselves in movies? Even Nollywood makes millions. Funny we know we can sell music and have the biggest acts that have been ripped off and copied but over and over again.. oh yes we can sell black african movies!! Duh!! Stop begging for euro white approval..keep making our own!!!! Show up in your African Garb for Black Panther and hold your head high!!!!
Malcolm Lee (Spike Lee’s cousin) directed this movie. Will Packer produced it.
