Issa Rae is building quite the empire over at HBO.
The creator and star of comedy ‘Insecure,’ who recently scored a Golden Globes nomination, has just placed not one but two new shows at the network.
Details below…
First up is ‘Him Or Her’ – a half-hour chronicles the dating life of a bisexual black man and the distinctly different worlds and relationships he finds himself in. Rae will serve as executive producer alongside ex ‘Daily Show’ writer and Emmy-winner Travon Free.
‘Sweet Life,’ according to Deadline, is a one-hour coming of age drama centered around a group of teens growing up in Beverly Hills. Rae will again serve as executive producer alongside Raamla Mohamed – whose producing credits include ‘Scandal.’ Both creators will also pen the show.
All this and third season of ‘Insecure’ to come.
Go Issa!
Omg this is epic. Can’t wait!
No
I thought they were going to do a remake of The Escape Diary. The book was awesome.
This show is going to be very painful…
I had the pleasure and misfodtune of dating someone bisexual and in the closet. We fell in love genuinely but as a gay man. It destroyed me.
Go Issa! Looking forward to both projects.
Yuck.
