Our good friends at Lifetime are at it again!
After scoring ratings high notes with their biopics on Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, Michel’le, and many more African American entertainment figures, the womens network has turned their pen and lens to the sports arena (as we reported here in July 2017).
Finally unveiling the premiere date for the biographical flick on Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast Simone Biles, the made-for-TV film – titled ‘The Simone Biles Story: Courage to Soar‘ – stars Tisha Campbell-Martin and newcomer Jeanté Godlock as Simone Biles.
See the trailer inside:
Based on Biles’ book, ‘Courage to Soar: A Body in Motion, A Life in Balance,’ the film follows the gymnast’s journey from humble Ohio beginnings to Olympic history books. Set to air on Lifetime on February 3, Biles served as the flick’s executive producer.

What a joke. At this point lifetime might is well give me a biopic.
girl wanted a light skinned actress to play her.
Its amazing (not really) a network that has always catered to European-Americans all of sudden want to exploit African-American women. Sick of it. If y’all don’t see the problem then we gonna always be puppets. Yuck
