January 2017 saw OWN order an additional 44 episodes of its flagship series, Tyler Perry‘s ‘The Haves & the Have Nots,’ and we see why. The soap’s enduring popularity, even a year later as evidenced by its season 5 premiere (Jan. 9, 2018), is proof that fans can’t get enough of the antics of Candace, Jim, Veronica, and the gang.
Coming in as the night’s most watched scripted program overall, tuck in below to see just how many people tuned in for the return of #HAHN:

‘Haves & the Have Nots’ rang in the new year with some impressive stats, as seen above. With a viewership of 2.3 million, the show won Tuesday night as the most watched scripted series. Only news programming and reality shows ‘Rachel Maddow Show’ (MSNBC), ‘Curse of Oak Island’ (HISTORY), and ‘Fixer Upper’ (HGTV), scored more viewers – a feat made all the more noteworthy when considered that OWN is not available in as many homes as the aforementioned networks.
Curious how Season 5 premiere of #HAHN stacks against its predecessors? See below:
‘Haves & Have Nots’ Season Premieres (to date)
Season 1: 1.77 million
Season 2: 2.77 million
Season 3: 3.22 million
Season 4: 3.11 million
Season 5: 2.3 million
I love this show.
