The fallout from Mo’Nique‘s Netflix boycott continues.
As widely reported, the comedian called for fans to cancel their subscriptions to the streaming service after she received what she deemed a disrespectful offer for a stand-up special. She specifically pointed to gender and race bias when relaying the disparity between her proposed $500,000 pay-packet and the multi-millions offered to Amy Schumer, Dave Chapelle and Chris Rock.
In the weeks since, the Oscar winner has gone on a press tour justifying her claims – sometimes with tense results.
Case in point her interview on the Sana G Morning Show.
“Hey Loves, join us” after the jump where the tea is poured…
During the sit-down Mo, when talking about respect, Mo’ clashed with host Sana after claiming that she felt disrespected…
Now Sana and co are clapping back.
Here’s what they had to say today about what transpired pre, post, and during the interview…
Yikes.
Whichever side one sits on as regards the “Mo’Nique” debate, surely it’s safe to say that the whole episode has not been a good look for her.
Depending on one’s stance, she’s now become meme fodder or (at best) a sacrificial lamb for an important cause (but one that’s now mute in the midst of the madness).
Sigh.
