After an elongated hiatus, ‘Atlanta’ returns on March 1st.
Now in its second season, the FX show (which is the brainchild of Donald Glover) is being co-dubbed ‘Atlanta Robbin Season.’
For those wondering why, the answer is supplied in the newly released trailer (“everybody gotta eat”).
The show sees Glover star as a college dropout-turned-manager to his cousin, a rising rapper played by Brian Tyree Henry. Season 2 is set during the holidays, which writer and exec producer Stephen Glover says serves a key purpose. Because its a window during which robberies rise as people buy more things and need more money. Per the show’s writers, the “tense and desperate time” becomes a metaphor for the characters.
