Tisha Campbell is in a bittersweet space.
For, as she prepares to engage in what may be a bitter divorce, she finds her career has hit a new sweet spot now that ABC has asked her to front a potentially groundbreaking new series.
Details below…
Regina King, Robin Roberts and Pam Veasy are to thank for the show’s conception and have asked Tisha to play one of five sisters employed by the New York Police Department to combat crime.
Alas, turmoil and drama strikes when the sisters are forced to battle their personal demons as the pressure of their high-risk job rises with every passing day.
Tisha and Amirah Vann are the first two actresses enlisted to star in the project and are to welcome three more players in the coming weeks.
Tisha’s character is Sergeant Anise Kendrick-Morrison, “a witty, tough, and outspoken Patrol Officer with a sharp sense of humor. She is immensely proud of her family, especially her four sisters who are all in the NYPD. The first to join the force, she proudly patrols her own childhood neighborhood in Queens.
The show is yet to be titled.
Good for her. I miss her on TV.
Get it, Stine. I love her, but if this show successfully launches, I guess this means she won’t be back on HTGAWM.
I don’t remember a time when Tisha hasn’t been in my life. She was on a show called ‘Rags to Riches’ when I was a kid, Little Shop of Horrors, House Party, hell, I still play her debut single “Push” . Her career and longevity speaks for itself. Good for her and I will definitely check out this new project.
I agree. I would add her role on Martin and that show with the Wayans to the list too. Her resume is long. I just wish she had kept making music too because she has a very good voice that could have spun some hits in the 90s.
I didn’t mention those because I figured those are her best known roles. Point is: Tisha Campbell is legend!
ENOUGH with the damn cop shows…
Jennifer Lopez, Sanaa Lathan, Angela Bassett — all beautiful and very talented women, but can we PUUUULEEEEASE come up with more orginal synopsis’ for these contemporary drama shows. The “cop thing” is growing stale. Tisha isnt even believable as a police officer. like, at all. beautiful woman and decent actress, but definitely miscast.
