Roseanne Barr is under fire in the worst way.
The actress, who’s risen to prominence again with the successful reboot of her ABC sitcom, is being lashed after making comments that many have deemed the definition of racist.

When replying to a Twitter jab at President Obama aide Valerie Jarrett (who was being accused of “helping hide a lot” by a disgruntled commenter), Barr relayed that Jarrett was an “ape.”
Her exact response was: “muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj.”
As the furore intensified, the Donald Trump endorsing comedienne deleted the comments. Nonetheless, in today’s climate, very little ever truly goes away:
Attempting a clean-up, Barr snatched the tweet and issued another set apologizing:
She can keep it and delete it. Because the reality is that not a single part of it is sincere.
For yours truly, I’d much rather know who thinks like that than have folk smile and pretend only to harbour said sentiments.
While on the topic of censorship, one has to wonder if there’ll be any repercussions from ABC?
Because, while it may seem like an unrelated reach, we’re in an era where entertainers are suffering the repercussions of harder to prove antics (see: R. Kelly/Spotify). So why not Roseanne?

Afro-American comedienne Wanda Sykes has announced that she will not be returning to the ‘Roseanne’ show next season the wake of Barr’s comments. She had been serving as a consulting producer.
