The movie studio MGM has called on the movie’s leading lady Reese Witherspoon to reprise her role as the idealistic and highly intelligent Elle Woods for the third chapter of its cinematic story!

This time around, Witherspoon will contribute to the project via her ‘Hello Sunshine’ production empire alongside original producer Marc Platt, script writers Kirsten Smith and Karen McCullah and Amanda Brown who wrote the book their work was based on.

They are keeping the plot under wraps, but I’m told it will be much in the spirit of the first film, in which Woods’ idealism and pink-dominant wardrobe prevailed over the cynicism and snootiness all around her after the freshly dumped former sorority sister heads to law school. The sequel brought her to D.C. to join the staff of a congresswoman to pass a bill to ban animal testing. The intention here is to make this more about female empowerment, a message that hits at a fortuitous time in the culture.

A release date? Yet to be locked in as production is yet to kick off but don’t worry…we’ll keep you in the loop.
