The movie was shot in 1979 but only saw the light of day in 1985, much to Madonna’s horror as its themes threatened to ruin her newfound fame and public image. Her plan to have the project ban were foiled much to the delight of director Stephen Jon Lewicki who used her star power to draw in audiences.
