Having already made a splash on music charts with early 2000’s hits ‘Just A Friend,’ ‘Crying Out For Me,’ and ‘Let Me Love You,’ it looks like Grammy-nominated R&B singer Mario is looking to make just as big of a splash on the small screen as the newest recurring cast member of FOX’s ‘Empire.’
Details inside:
“A new recurring character—played by singer/actor Mario—will be joining the cast of Fox’s Empire. The hit musical drama begins its fifth season on Wednesday, Sept. 26 (8 p.m.).
Mario will play the role of Devon, described by Fox as “an earnest, up-and-coming R&B singer who supports his ailing sister.” Both the Empire label and Lyon Family Management are vying against each other to sign him. The upcoming season finds the Lyon family trying to build back their empire after losing the company at the end of last season.

The report comes less than two months after the singer announced the name change of his once titled project, ‘Paradise Cove.’ Now christened ‘Dancing Shadows,’ the LP – most recently supported by the song and video for its latest single ‘Drowning’ – has yet to see its release date announced.
