Keke Palmer continues to flex her acting chops by taking on diverse and challenging roles, a feat most certainly demonstrated by her new film, ‘Pimp.’
Executive produced by ‘Empire’ creator Lee Daniels, Palmer plays a lesbian pimp named “Wednesday” struggling to escape the prostitution game. Taking to Entertainment Weekly recently, the singer/actress/dancer shared:
“The movie is really a coming-of-age love story with a backdrop of the pimp industry.
…I really was looking for some cool, interesting projects that could give me the opportunity to show different female characters. I wanted to do something different and give a voice to a character that really doesn’t often get a voice.”
Directed by Christine Crokos, the film also stars rapper DMX. Ahead of its November 9th premiere, see the trailer inside:
Looks Like it’s going to be dope. The only issue they should have got a more butch female to play the role. Would have been a good role for a younger Queen Latifah.
