A passion for good storytelling lies at the heart of Viola Davis’ decision to team up with Amazon to create original content for the giant.

JuVee Productions was created by Davis and her husband Julius and is to thank for the critically acclaimed movie ‘Lila and Eve.’

As the year draws to an end, the company has announced that it has found a friend and collaborator in Amazon via a first-look deal with the business.

It’s an agreement between a writer and an independent producer (production company) or an independent producer and a film studio in which the potential buyer (producer or studio) of a not-yet-written project pays a development fee to the writer or producer for the right to have the first look at the new material before others in the industry get to see it.
