Jussie Smollett is tired of the Chicago PD’s efforts to punish him for a crime he says he didn’t commit!
Now, he is fighting back and has- by way of his lawyer- threatened to teach authorities a lesson they’ll never forget!

The City of Chicago wants Jussie to pay them the $130,000 they say the investigation into his alleged assault cost them.
He finds the request to be highly insulting as all of the charges he faced were dropped and wants authorities to leave him alone….or face his wrath.
Jussie’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, fired off an angry letter to the city, saying Jussie “will not be intimated,” calling the claim his client faked the “attack” “false and defamatory.”
As we reported, the City is preparing a civil lawsuit to recover the $130k it spent in investigating Jussie’s claim that he was the victim of a racist, homophobic attack. The lawsuit is significant, because it effectively puts Jussie on trial and the standard of proof is much lower than a criminal case.

He then threatens that he will grill Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson like cheeseburgers in depositions if the City goes through with the lawsuit. Both men were extremely critical of State’s Attorney Kim Foxx for dropping the charges, saying Jussie did indeed fake the attack.

Smollett is expected to return to ‘Empire.’

Especially because he did all this just to try and get a pay increase on Empire and then after he pays CPD off I hope he gets fired from Empire and no one wants to hire him!
Um, no. the corrupt Chicago PD needs to reap what they sow (see “Laquan Jeffries”) for all the corruption theyve done lying about cases and falsifying evidence and putting innocent people behind bars. This time, they shot themselves in the foot trying to go after Jussie. They don’t deserve a dime, and if jussie is smart he will countersue them.

I’m from Chitown. Rahm Emanuel is one of the most divisive, unliked mayors in Chicago history. In fact his office tried to cover up the fatal shooting of Laquan McDonald (shot 16x in the back at close range by an officer who just received ONLY 3-4 years of prison time w/ zero financial penalties) yet he and the corrupt CPD would rather make an example of Jussie Smollett filing a false police report (the lowest level of a crime among them all?)

Jussie is 1000% correct. Chicago has TONS of unsolved murders and weekly shootings going on, as well as one of the most corrupt police departments in the country, and they’re spending all of their energy on THIS??? It was THEIR lead prosecutor who dropped all the charges; Jussie had nothing to do with that. If they feel they need to be compensated for wasting everyone’s time on their false investigation then their issue is with HER, not him. Hopefully Jussie will countersue them for harrassment & defamation if they continue with this foolishness.
