First Look Trailer: ‘Mixed-Ish’ [‘Black-Ish’ Spin-Off]

Published: Wednesday 15th May 2019 by Sam

‘Black-Ish’ continues to be the gift that keeps giving. Because the show has birthed yet another spin-off named ‘Mixed-Ish.’

Following the success of ‘Grown-Ish’ on sister station Freeform, ABC have made a straight to series order of the new show.

A prequel of sorts, it’ll be set in the 80s and chronicle the early life of Tracee Ellis Ross‘ character Rainbow Johnson. It’ll have a focus on her experiences being mixed race.

‘Mixed-Ish,’ which is co-written by ‘Black-Ish’ creator Kenya Barris and exec produced by Ross + Anthony Anderson, will premiere as a backdoor-pilot during a future episode of ‘Black-Ish.’

Before then, check out the first look trailer for the show (which co-stars Tika Sumpter) below…

We’re all sorts of here for this; and would love to see other shows hone in on the concept of spin-offs that can run concurrently with the original show.

Tika is beautiful. Does this mean she’ll be on this show and the haves and have nots at the same time? Or did that end?

How come mixed people can play black roles but black people can’t play mixed roles

It was always very clear that Kenya Barris was more interested in telling the life of his biracial wife than telling the life of Blacks. Black-ish is all about having America empathize with the lives of biracial people that is mixed with Black/White. Mixed-ish was not needed. Black-ish is Mixed-ish.

Oh yeah thats the problem with black people u always want everything being about u
-u want evermovie with black characters
-u want every oscars black actors to win or its racism
-u want every grammy or awards black to win of not its racism
And u dnt accept ur own racism
Im biracial men and its hard for us too ,if u feel racism for people with white skin,we feel it with people with white and black skin
Even in ut family too,in school and everywhere
So yeah he has the right to talk about what he feel need to be talk.if u dnt like dnt watch
