Beyond anchoring the show, the ‘Girls Trip’ star will also executive produce the title when it hits screens this Fall.
Speaking on tapping Haddish, ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke said:
“When I was dreaming of stars I wanted to bring to ABC, Tiffany Haddish was top of my list. Tiffany starring in and producing this iconic series is everything I hoped for.”
Haddish herself added:
“I’m excited to hear what kids have to say these days because I can’t understand what they are saying on social media. They’re using too many abbreviations!”
Boasting a rich history dating back to 1945, the show – which fuses taped and live audience comedy segments – has been hosted by the likes of Bill Cosby and Steve Harvey in earlier incarnations.
It joins a packed plate of activity for the omnipresent Haddish, who nabbed a first look deal with HBO, scored a Netflix stand-up special, is currently starring in animated series ‘Tuca & Bertie,’ as well as sitcom ‘The Last O.G.’
She’s also accumulating a rapidly growing list of film roles; one of the most recent being ‘The Oath’ – which we caught up with her to speak about recently:
The kids will probably talk better than she does. Since doesn’t speak the greatest herself
Y’all need to stop call her a comdiene cause the ish anit funny.
I LOVED this show! Cmon Tiff!!
I am glad she is showing this side to the public & doing so well with getting booked. She might not be funny to you, but somebodies out their laughing & she is getting those coins for it. I support you Tiffany Haddish.
This shucker and jiver went to the Met Gala with fried chicken. She’s canceled.
I consider the comment about and 1950’s white man very racist. I will not watch this program. Where are the family values???
