The platform, was once home to the likes of ‘Baldwin Hills’ and ‘Harlem Heights’, has teamed up with its technological geniuses to build a streaming service powered a reboot of ‘The First Wives Club.’
The new version stars Jill Scott, Michelle Buteau, Ryan Michelle Bathe and will stand by side with original shows created by Will Packer and Tyler Perry…carved to do for the platform what ‘Orange is the new Black’ and ‘Narcos’ did for Netflix.
Its name? BET+.
The report says that like WarnerMedia’s upcoming streaming service and the upcoming Disney+, BET+ will have content from multiple Viacom brands like BET, Comedy Central and VH1.

They need to focus on having enough original content and not just reruns of other networks syndicated shows on their own channel first and foremost. Like who watches BET anymore. Even mtv and vh1 are bigger staples for appointment tv than bet is. I don’t even know five current shows on air there. Maybe not even 3 I could name.
