Fans of STARZ flagship series, ‘Power,’ had a lot to say about ‘Say Aah’ singer Trey Songz once it was discovered the heartthrob’s reworked version of the show’s beloved theme song, ‘Big Rich Town,’ replaced that of its original singer’s – R&B veteran Joe.
As we reported here, those who tuned into the Omari Hardwick-led drama’s season 6 return today (August 25) were so disappointed when they heard Songz’ crooning they took to Twitter to flood the series’, its creator’s (Courtney A. Kemp), and its producer’s (50 Cent) official social media handle pages with complaints.
Never one to mince words, 50 clapped back at detractors via a video lifted to Instagram. See what he said below:

This almost feels like a joke. Why would Trey even agree to go up against Joe’s version knowing the attention it would draw? There aren’t many who can hold their own compared to Joe. Only ones I can think of off the top of my head are Mario, Robin Thicke, and Kevin Ross.
Agreed, there is no comparison btw. Trey Songs and Joe. I honestly didn’t know who was singing the new version, I just knew I hated it in comparison to Joe’s much richer more soulful voice. Whoever made this decision has zero taste!
Lol this is dumb. I don’t like Trey Songz, but his version of the theme song is not THAT bad or different from the original. I think folks are just upset because the episode was kinda lame so they’re taking it out on this lol.
Thank God I’m not the only one who hates the remake! Bring back Joe’s smooth, real R&B voice!
