Jennifer Lopez may be earning Oscar buzz for her critically acclaimed performance in the new box office hit, ‘Hustlers,’ but there’s at least one person she shouldn’t expect a standing ovation from: Samantha Barbash, the woman who Lopez’s character in the stripper film is allegedly based on.
Taking to multiple media outlets including TMZ, Access Hollywood, and more, Barbash branded the film ‘unimpressive’ and slammed it for ‘lacking a story line.’ As if that’s not enough, she claims the creators stole her life story even after she refused to accept their ‘unacceptable offer’ to sign away rights for the use of her likeness.
Now, with attorney Bruno Gioffre in pocket, Samantha’s readying a six-to-seven figure defamation lawsuit against the people behind the movie (STX Films, director Lorene Scafaria, and possibly Lopez) for what she deems an incorrect and inappropriate portrayal of her life as an exotic dancer.
Hear it from her lips inside:
Talking to TMZ:
Talking to Access Hollywood (with lawyer by her side), Barbash says Cardi B would’ve done a better job portraying her in the film.
Barbash is also using the media blitz to promote how she will tell her story her way via the autobiography, ‘Underscore: Breaking My Silence.’ As of time reported Lopez has not responded to the accusations.
