Nick Cannon Reacts To Backlash For Saying White People Are ‘True Savages’ That Are ‘Closer to Animals’

Published: Tuesday 14th Jul 2020 by Rashad

Nick Cannon‘s no stranger to nabbing headlines for some of the controversial commentary found on his radio show, ‘Nick Cannon Mornings,’ and podcast, ‘Cannon’s Class.’

As such, it was no surprise when an excerpt from the June 30 episode of the latter made its rounds on the net particularly highlighting a segment where he made remarks deemed ‘racist and antisemitic.’

Seeing his name trend on Twitter Tuesday (July 14) for that discourse, many are calling for his ‘cancellation.’

See just what he said to rile up the critics inside:

In the video seen above, Cannon – alongside rapper Professor Griff – took to his podcast to liken White and Jewish people to “true savages” and “animals.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, the rapper-turned-media-personality praised the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and said White people’s ‘animal-like’ nature comes from a lack of melanin.

“When you have a person who has the lack of pigment, the lack of melanin that they know they will be annihilated, therefore they know that however they got the power, they have a lack of compassion, melanin comes with compassion,” Nick said. “They have to rob, steal, rape, kill and fight in order to survive…So they’re the ones closer to animals, they’re the ones that are actually the true savages.”

Needless to say, the comments didn’t go over well with a number of people – many of whom are wondering why he isn’t receiving the same energy a White person would if similar comments were made about people of color.

Once the hoopla reached the desk of Cannon, he took to Twitter to offer a statement.

He didn’t exactly apologize, but he did note the conversation could have taken a less judgmental turn.
