Over the years, a revival of the Brandy-led series has been teased – most notably when the surviving cast members reunited on an episode of ‘The Real’ and hinted as much.
Now, just a week after the original show made its way to Netflix, its central star has shared that the wheels are in motion for a fresh instalment of the sitcom.
Speaking to The Grio (in promotion of new album ‘B7’), Brandy revealed that formal meetings are underway for a reboot.
Of her hopes for the updated show, the GRAMMY winner shared that she wants to see who Moesha is today and what she’s up to. She added that a logical step would be to have her be a journalist/author – given her journaling and academic trajectory on the original show (which ended in 2001 after six seasons).

Running from 1996-2001, ‘Moesha’ – for many a millennial – was more than a TV show.
For, its themes, performances, and stars (such as Countess Vaughn, Shar Jackson, and the late Lamont Bentley) resonated with viewers in a major way.
News of reboot activity follows confirmation that fellow 90s sitcom ‘The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air’ is being revived as a Drama series.
Perhaps a similar reimagining of the format is what would be best in this instance.
