‘Clueless’ Reboot Centered Around “Dionne” in Development at NBC

With critical acclaim for NBC’s new streaming service, Peacock, already soaring thanks to its ‘Saved by the Bell’ reboot (click here to see the trailer), the platform is resurrecting another 90’s teen-focal phenomenon:  ‘Clueless.’

However, its rebirth will be delivered with a twist.

Details inside:

Led by Alicia Silverstone as “Cher,” the 1995 coming-of-age film ‘Clueless’ – which co-starred Stacey Dash as “Dionne” – is considered a cult classic.  First reborn via a TV adaptation on ABC and later UPN in the late 90’s, now the series is set to return with Dionne as the main character.

“The untitled comedy series is described a baby pink and bisexual blue-tinted, tiny sun-glasses wearing, oat milk latte and Adderall-fueled look at what happens when queen bee Cher disappears and her lifelong number two Dionne steps into Cher’s vacant Air Jordans. How does Dionne deal with the pressures of being the new most popular girl in school, while also unraveling the mystery of what happened to her best friend?

News of the show’s development was first reported last October, though no network or streaming service was attached at the time. Jordan Reddout and Gus Hickey will serve as writers and executive producers on the project. Corrinne Brinkerhoff, Scott Rudin, the film’s producer Robert Lawerence, Eli Bush, and Tiffany Grant will also executive produce. CBS Television Studios will produce.”

As of time reported, no official release date is attached to the project.

So it’s a fanfic of Pretty Little Liars and Jane Austen. Jesus… I would love them to develop a show around the Dionne character but that plot ain’t s***.
