‘Power Book II: Ghost’ is off to such a strong start that it’s already been picked up for another run.

Moments ago, Starz announced that the show – which is the first of many ‘Power’ spin-offs – has been renewed for a second season.

Anchored by Michael Rainey Jr. and Naturi Naughton, the franchise’s fresh chapter welcomed music icons Method Man and Mary J. Blige (among a host of other new faces) to its roster.

Speaking on Christina Davis, president of programming at STARZ, said:

“The success of ‘Ghost’ right out of the gate is a tribute to the quality of Courtney’s storytelling, the strength of the ‘Power’ franchise and the loyalty of our incredible fans. What Courtney, Curtis and their team have accomplished in creating the ‘Power’ Universe is nothing short of extraordinary. It is a privilege to be able to continue the journey of ‘Power’ with the audience and we look forward to delving deeper into this world in exciting new ways for many seasons to come.”

The news comes on the heels of the announcement of another ‘Power’ spin-off starring Joseph Sikora‘s character Tommy.
