The singer shares her story in an emotionally-charged episode of Taraji P. Henson‘s new Facebook Watch show Peace of Mind.
Speaking candidly and emotionally, the ‘Love & War’ performer said of her July 16 attempt at taking her life:
“Logan was the reason why I made that decision. I just felt like he deserved better. I felt like I was embarrassing him, being a fool on TV.
Henson asked: “you thought he would be better without you?”
43-year-old Braxton replied:
“I thought in that moment. Because I knew that’s not what my whole life really was. That’s not who I was. I didn’t want him to be embarrassed in front of his friends. Here is this loudmouth ghetto mama.”

She should let his dad get custody all week and stay weekends with her. Vince insisted on kids while Tamar wasn’t here for it. She’s not really equipped to take care of a plant when she can barely manage her own self.

She wanted the Braxtons to be a show about sisters and family. But the producers of course want a messy reality show. Cos they think it attracts viewers. I would prefer to see them get along. Make music together tour together. Fights are old and boring now for reality shows
Producers won’t CGI scenes to make you look a fool on TV. You can’t win when your sister, Towanda, urges cameramen to rush behind Tamar to film her get reprimanded by their mom. . .or warn Loni Love Tamar is filming a reaction to her The Real firing. . .or sneakily provoke her hothead sisters to act crazy on camera. Tamar is too outspoken in a world with discreet hypocricy as one key to likeability and success. Tamar stays funny, tho.
TO BE 100% FAIR: Tamar never wanted kids and conceived when drunk per her admission while having fertility issues. I believe her heart started breaking, little by little, since her sisters started ganging up on her and ruining her reputation for a storyline since Braxton Family Values Season 3. She was not innocent, but watching her family, her former co-hosts, and ex-husband crumble as her only support system BROKE her. If I were Tamar, I’d embrace and bank on the angry black woman rep. Heck, even release a song or name an album THAT. But the, therein lies Tamar’s artistic faux-pas: fun personality, old skool syrupy music. Glad she’s alive – I see comedy in her future. #naturalcomic
