It’s that time of year again. The Oscars 2021 air live April 25 on ABC.
As is always, eyes on mass are on which movies are up for honors at the latest installment of the historic ceremony.
Moments ago, it was revealed that Chadwick Boseman received a posthumous Best Actor nomination for his powerful performance in ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.‘
His co-star in the film Viola Davis was honored with a nomination for Best Actress.
In the same category, Andra Day has been named following her stellar performance in ‘The United States vs. Billie Holiday.’
Elsewhere, H.E.R. also nabbed a placement in Best Original Song for ‘Fight For Me’ from ‘Judas and the Black Messiah.’
Daniel Kaluuya and LaKeith Stanfield are both up for Best Supporting Actor for their roles in the Warner Bros. film.
But without further ado…check out the full list of nominees at the 94 Annual Academy Awards below…

What do you think of the nominations?
I don’t know any of these movies..
So I’m confused. Whose the leading character in Judas? Shouldn’t Lakeith have gotten the best actor nod??
They do that to increase chance of winning an Oscar. Also monique could’ve easily submitted. For best actress for precious but supporting was a more guaranteed shoe in
See i was thinking Chadwick and Lakeith should be switched since Chadwicks was more of a supporting role but what do I know. He’ll probably win best actor tho. Just doesn’t seem right for lakeith and Daniel to be competing AGAINST each other for the same movie.
I don’t think they submitted it that way. I read that Kaluuya submitted in the supporting category while Stanfeld submitted in the lead category. But since Stanfeld supposedly got more votes for supporting actor vs. lead, both of them ended up in that category. It makes no sense whatsoever to put them both in the supporting category because it’s like saying that the movie has no lead character. It seems the Academy just wants another excuse to not give lead actor to a black man, as usual. Now the two of them will be competing against each other and one will cancel the other out. One of the two should have been deemed the lead actor.
I’ve heard commentary from some who say this year’s films about the black experience were deserving of more nominations, but I don’t think the Acamedy did bad at all. What I hate is when they slip in movies like Pinnochio. Pinnochio isn’t even finished for them to see if the makeup and costumes hold up well throughout the movie.
