This week brought with it the news that ‘Cinderella’ would forgo a cinema release after being acquired by Amazon Studios.
Like a number of high-profile films over the last year, the flick will instead premiere on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service.
Originally set for a summer release (after a number of prior scheduling shifts), its sale means viewers will have to wait a while longer.

It’s been confirmed that instead of arriving on July 16 as had been planned, ‘Cinderella’ will now sparkle on Prime Video this Fall.
When it debuts, the film – which is directed by Kay Cannon and co-stars Billy Porter, Idina Menzel, and Pierce Brosnan – be available in a whopping 240 countries.
Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon Studios said in a statement:
