Sheree Whitfield famously asked “who gon’ check me, boo?” But now it looks the question she’s been asking of late is “who’s got that check for me?”
And per a new report, it may well be her old bosses at Bravo. Because the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ original is officially in talks for a return to the hit series.
According to TMZ, Whitfield has been in discussions to re-board RHOA for its upcoming 14th season.
However, there’s a catch…she’s only interested in a full-time gig.
Citing sources close to production, Whitfield has indeed been in advanced discussions with producers about a comeback. However, it’s stressed that the various reports that the deal is done are – as at writing – inaccurate.
It’s no surprise why the reality OG is eyeing a full-fledged role.
With the franchise no longer having Nene Leakes mix (her acrimonious departure has been well-documented), the show currently sits without an original cast member.
And if there’s one tried and true buzz generator, it’s the injection of nostalgia.
Furthermore, unlike the constant revolving door of newbies, Whitfield has an established connection to the cast – both old and new via her various stints on the show. Indeed, she appeared from seasons 1-4 full-time, re-joined as a “Friend Of” for season 8, and was back as a peach-holder for seasons 9 and 10.
There’s also the various storyline arcs viewers already have background on; namely her relationship with boyfriend “Tyrone” (who has since been released from prison), her lavish home Chateau Sheree, and clothing line She By Sheree.
