‘Queen Sugar’ returns to OWN for its sixth season on September 7.
Praised in earnest for its potently layered portrayal of an African-American family in the Deep South, the series follows the complicated lives of the Bordelon clan.
Anchored by stars Kofi Siriboe, Dawn-Lyen Gardner, Bianca Lawson, and Rutina Wesley, the incoming chapter of the hit series finds the Bordelon family adjusting and advancing in the wake of the global health crisis.
Viewers will see Ralph Angel (Siriboe) and Darla (Lawson) prepping for the arrival of their new baby. Elsewhere, Nova (Wesley) continues to speak up and out against political corruption, while Charley (Gardner) is tasked with making a life-changing decision. This season sees narratives of joy, struggle, and perseverance at its core.
