Will Smith is getting candid.
The famed actor is now opening up about his struggles with mental health issues in the trailer for his new weight-loss series, ‘The Best Shape of My Life.’

In one scene from the new trailer, Smith discussions his relationship with mental health and his past thoughts of suicide, saying:
“When I started this show, I thought I was getting into the best shape of my life physically, but mentally, I was somewhere else.”
“That was the only time in my life that I ever considered suicide.”
He did not specify from the trailer as to when he exactly decided to contemplate taking his own life.
He then goes on to say:
“What you’ve come to understand as Will Smith, the alien-annihilating MC, the bigger-than-life movie star, is largely a construction. A carefully crafted and honed character designed to protect myself, to hide myself from the world, to hide the coward.”
‘Best Shape Of My Life’ premieres on November 8 via YouTube.
