New updates have arrived on last night’s on-air assault between Will Smith and Chris Rock.

According to a new report, Rock has “declined to file a police report” after he was slapped by Smith at last night’s OSCAR Awards.
A statement from LAPD reads:
“LAPD investigative entities are aware of an incident between two individuals during the Academy Awards program. The incident involved one individual slapping another. The individual involved has declined to file a police report. If the involved party desires a police report at a later date, LAPD will be available to complete an investigative report.”
The event occurred after Rock made a joke about Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett, where he compared her shaved head to the movie ‘G.I. Jane.’ While Smith would go on to later win the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in ‘King Richard’ and apologize during his acceptance speech, he is now in danger of having his award repossessed.
According to the Academy’s conduct code, one must know the importance of “upholding the Academy’s values” such as “respect for human dignity.”
According to Variety, when the conduct code was released in 2017, AMPAS CEO Dawn Hudson wrote to members:
“There is no place in the Academy for people who abuse their status, power or influence in a manner that violates recognized standards of decency. The Academy is categorically opposed to any form of abuse, harassment or discrimination on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disability, age, religion, or nationality. The Board of Governors believes that these standards are essential to the Academy’s mission and reflective of our values.”
As of reporting, it has not been announced if his OSCAR will be officially revoked or not.

Because it was staged. All celebrities have “hired” security who automatically react if they’re seeing their boss attacked. It’s as natural as a man witnessing his wife/kids under attacked. Isn’t this Will’s self defense??
Furthermore the Oscars is supposedly a highly prestige event. Any violence would have “triggered” the ppl since safe upscale spaces is the norm for them.
