The buzz about a possible J. Hud series began gaining volume last year and now it’s been confirmed.
The Jennifer Hudson Show will be premiering this Fall via Fox Television Studios.
And while the series is not being overtly positioned as a successor to ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ (which is ending this year), there are a number of notable points that suggest it very well may be. Symbolically, at least.
‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ is also helmed by the same production company behind ‘Ellen’ (Telepictures). It’s also being distributed by the same distributor too (Warner Bros TV).
Furthermore, ‘Ellen’ executive producers Andy Lassner and Mary Connelly served as showrunners on Hudson’s test show, which was shot last Fall on DeGeneres’ stage.
Word on the curb is that Hudson’s show was the subject of a fierce bidding war, with Fox TV Stations triumphing in the end.
As well as Fox stations, the multihyphenate’s show will also launch on Hearst Television, as well as additional station groups – ensuring ample availability out of the gate.
Speaking on the new chapter, Hudson said in a statement:
“I have experienced so much in my life; I’ve seen the highest of the highs, the lowest of the lows, and just about everything in between, but as my mother always told me, ‘Once you think you’ve seen it all, just keep on living,’
People from around the world have been a part of my journey from the beginning — twenty years ago — and I’m so ready to join their journey as we sit down and talk about the things that inspire and move us all. I have always loved people, and I cannot wait to connect on a deeper level and let audiences see the different sides of who I am, the human being, in return. And I couldn’t be more thrilled to do it alongside this incredible team. We’re about to have a lot of fun and shake things up a little bit!”
‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ premieres on FOX stations this Fall.
I rather watch Jennifer Hudson than Sherri Sheppard… just saying
Why can’t we enjoy both?!
Because they should have got neicy Nash for Wendy…from claw’s
The Illuminati taking good care of this sell out. Keep her a check coming in. When you did what she did . They live it. They pushing her cause her music don’t sell. Poor fantasia .the winner and pushed aside cause she still has a lil heart in her🫐
I don’t believe Fantasia has been forgotten and pushed aside. She reached her 12th top 10 hit 3 years ago and that was her 7th album, and she’s preparing for the “Color Purple” movie. She will undoubtedly receive enormous attention for it.
I’m all about Advancing, trying something New. I wish her All the best in whatever she embarks upon. Her Talent is Endless, There’s room for All. Much love and Success to her ❤️
