The 58-year-old sued the ‘Aquaman 2’ actress for $50 million for what he claims were defamatory allegations made about him in an op-ed piece; remarks centered on sexual and verbal abuse as well as domestic violence.

The seven-person jury deemed Heard’s claims that Depp was a sexual abuser as defamation. They further found that her accusations in the Washington Post feature were malicious.

Heard’s defamation countersuit was dismissed all but one of Heard’s counterclaims.

As for damages, Depp was awarded $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages.

It brings to an end the six-week media magnet of a trial, which dominated the news cycle and social media.
