Jennifer Hudson has done it!
The multi-hyphenate talent has earned coveted EGOT status after scoring a huge win at the Tony Awards 2022.

The prestigious honor, which recognizes winning an Emmy, GRAMMY, Oscar, and a Tony – is a rarity. Indeed, Hudson becomes the 17th person ever to nab the title.
She managed the feat by way of her role as a producer on ‘A Strange Loop’ – which won the Best Musical award.
J.Hud joining the EGOT list is notable on a number of fronts.
At 40-years-old, she is the third youngest person to become an EGOT. She is also notably only the third Black person to land the honor, following Whoopi Goldberg and John Legend.
Hudson’s EGOT journey kicked off in 2007 when she won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her now-iconic performance as Effie White in ‘Dreamgirls.’ She would go on to win her first of two GRAMMYs in 2009. Just last year, the diva was delivered her first Daytime Emmy Award as a producer on ‘Baba Yaga,’ and tonight (June 12) sealed her seismic spot in history with a Tony.
For some, Hudson’s Tony win as a producer at the Radio City Music Hall ceremony serves as justice of sorts after she didn’t receive a nomination in 2016 for her enchanting performance in ‘The Color Purple’ on Broadway.
In any case, J.Hud – who is set to launch her own daytime talk show in the Fall – has ample cause for celebration!
Congratulations!
