With multiple GRAMMYs and an Academy Award (Oscar) already lining her mantel, Lady Gaga could see herself climb one rung closer to EGOT status thanks to last-minute inclusion in this year’s EMMYs race.
Details inside:
The songstress may be busy trotting the globe on her critically acclaimed ‘Chromatica Ball’ stadium tour, but she may soon be jetting back to America to collect an EMMY trophy at this year’s ceremony on September 12.
Though initially left off of the award show’s nominations’ roster, Gaga learned her 2021 CBS concert special – ‘One Last Time‘ with Tony Bennett – was added to the Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) category just this week.
And while Bennett has two previous Emmy victories to his credit, Gaga – with four nominations over her career – has never taken home the golden statuette. Her prior nods were for the 2011 concert film ‘Lady Gaga Presents: The Monster Ball Tour at Madison Square Garden,’ 2014’s ‘Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga: Cheek to Cheek Live,’ and her headlining stint at the 2017 Super Bowl.
If ‘One Last Time’ wins in its category, the Pop diva will only need a TONY Award to fulfill her quest for EGOT status.
