I’m thinking more and more about the conversation around Disney featuring blacks only when we’re transformed into a creature or animal for most of the movie. Daveed Diggs played the role of a distinguished gentleman in Hamilton and could’ve easily played the prince, but Disney saw him as a bottom feeding crab.
I just cannot for the life of me understand why her hair is that colour. I think Halle is a great choice tbh, I couldn’t care less about the race-swapping but it just doesn’t give Ariel without the red. It gives gorgeous Disney princess, sure. But yeah…I’ll never get used to an Ariel with that hair colour, it’s just off. Also show us the other characters too omggggg I need to seeeeee

Yeah I get that but Ariel isn’t Merida. She’s not meant to look like a natural ginger, she’s meant to have that Coca-Cola red hair. It’s a mermaid, not a human so they could’ve been more imaginative tbh.
