Award-winning singer-actress Anika Noni Rose, the voice behind “Tiana” (Disney’s first Black animated princess), recently wed fellow actor Jason Dirden in a ceremony fit for a royal – a total surprise to both of their loyal fans.
And though the two said “I do” last October in Los Angeles, the lovebirds kept the news quiet until stunning photos from the event made their way to the latest issue of ‘Brides.’

According to their chat with the mag, the newlyweds met in 2014 when they were cast in the Broadway production of ‘A Raisin in the Sun.’
Dirden, 42, proposed in December 2021, but the couple kept everything under wraps for over a year.
“The only other person who knew that this was happening was the DJ,” Rose,50, revealed. “I saw the moment Jason realized it was me singing. Meanwhile, my family knew it was me from the moment the first beat dropped! Jason was so focused on the dance that it took him about two lines in before he had that ‘Ah’ moment.”
Jason was shocked.
“My first thought was: I did not know I was marrying a liar!” he joked. “It was so moving, so magical, and something I would have never expected.”
