The Weeknd is hitting the press trail for his hotly anticipated new HBO series, ‘The Idol.’
During his latest interview, the star – who is going by his birth name Abel Tesfaye for his non-musical endeavors – is revealing how seriously he took the role.
For, the 33-year-old says that he was so immersed in his character that he “forgot how to sing’ – resulting in problems for his main hustle.

Reflecting on the process of shooting the Sam Levinson-helmed series, The Weeknd told W Magazine:
“My theory is that I forgot how to sing because I was playing Tedros, a character who doesn’t know how to sing. It was terrifying. As The Weeknd, I’ve never skipped a concert.”
