In life, Baynard Rustin was one of the most prolific activists of all time. And now his story is being immortalized in new movie ‘Rustin.’
Set to premiere this November on Netflix, the movie chronicles the unwavering spirit possessed by Baynard, who is played by Emmy winner Colman Domingo.
Unapologetic about who he was, Rustin never wavered on his beliefs or who he loved. A reality that saw him make history while (in many ways) being eradicated from it too.
Until now.
Directed by five-time Tony Award winner George C. Wolfe, ‘Rustin’ will celebrate the story of a man who dared to imagine a different world and inspired a movement in a march toward freedom alongside the likes of Martin Luther King Jr.
Executive produced by Barack Obama and Michelle Obama (under their Higher Ground umbrella), and Tonia Davis, the film features an all-star cast including Chris Rock, Glynn Turman, Aml Ameen, Gus Halper, CCH Pounder, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Johnny Ramey, Michael Potts, Jeffrey Wright and Audra McDonald.

We’ll be watching! Will you?
I wonder will they tell the truth how MLK did not approve of Rustin being gay and did not want him at the March dispute his huge efforts
I made a reasonable and factual comment defending Dr. King and it gets erased while some of the nastiest and most hateful comments are allowed all day every day with no censorship. Clearly TGJ prefers one-sided discussion when it comes to certain topics.
